Jamie and Louise Redknapp open Twynham’s state of the art Studio

Quite a party was enjoyed as former pupil Jamie Redknapp and his wife, Louise, formally opened Twynham’s wonderful new Dance & PE Studio.

The celebrities received an enthusiastic reception.  From the moment they arrived they were caught up in the excitement of the occasion and entered into the fun and celebrations.  There were enticing nibbles, juice and sparkling wine, a host of dance students in their leotards, and a throng of officials, friends and well wishers.

The brand new Studio looked spectacular.  Jamie and Louise, the Mayor of Christchurch, Councilor David Flagg and his wife the Mayoress, Mrs Denise Flagg, the contractors, representatives from Dorset Local Authority, key school staff and many more were treated to an impressive dance display by students.  The press were taking notes and grabbing some great photo opportunities, and plenty of faces were pressed up against the windows to catch a glimpse of proceedings.

Louise performed the official opening, ably assisted by Jamie.  She commented on how fortunate the students were to have such a wonderful facility and encouraged them to make the most of it and work hard.  Applause rang out, followed by a scrum, as everybody clamored to be photographed with Jamie and Louise and students and staff appeared from the nowhere to secure autographs!  Twynham’s  favourite celebrities never tired of posing or signing.

Headteacher, Terry Fish, was delighted: “We are truly honoured that Jamie and Louise gave time from their busy schedules to travel to Christchurch to open our new Studio.  They are such genuine people and entered whole-heartedly in the celebrations.  My admiration and thanks go to everyone involved in this exciting project.  It is an outstanding facility that will enhance the curriculum and enjoyment of a generation of students.”
