6th Form Open Evening packed out

Last night (Thurs 22 Oct) our school was overflowing with students interested in joining our 6th Form in September 2010. 500 people, including many parents, crammed into the School Hall and an overflow room. A further 100 or so couldn’t squeeze in and went directly to the classroom displays.

The evening was hosted by our head boy.  He introduced a number of 6th formers who had joined Twynham from other schools or had moved up from our own Year 11.  They spoke with enthusiasm about life at Twynham, their favourite subjects and the universities they are hoping to attend.

Headteacher, Terry Fish, was invited to say a few words.  His pride in his 6th formers was very evident and he also commended the team of teachers that has made Twynham 6th Form outstanding.

The numbers attending demonstrate that the 6th Form is becoming increasingly popular each year.  With only about 200 Year 12 places available, we urge those who would like a place to ensure their application is submitted before the 29 January deadline.  This can be done via the web site: www.twynham6thform.com

We are making a video recording available to those who missed the talks or are interested in what took place but couldn't get to the Open Evening.  This can be received by e-mailing neil@twynhamschool.com If you supply your name, postal address and the school that you currently attend, he will send you a dvd and a 6th Form prospectus.
