Year 12 Familiarisation Day

Last week saw over 200 of our new Year 12 students atending Twynham for their familiarisation day where they found out about the arrangements for August when they receive their GCSE results and the start of the new term. They also used the occassion to make new friends and to learn more about the opportuities available to them. Then, at around 10.00am over 150 of our new students left the school to join the coaches to take then Paintballing.  There really is nothing like meeting new people for the first time and then firing paint balls at them! It was a fabulous day which allowed students to meet each other in an informal environment and make new friends prior to enrolling for courses in September.

This year we have students joining us from a range of schools including: Ballard, BSB, BSG, St Peters, Arnewood, Bishop of Winchester, Ferndown, Glenmoor, Highcliffe, Kings High, Moyles Court, Oakmead, Poole Grammar, Portchester, QE, The Grange, Winton, Bournemouth Collegiate and Priestlands along with others who are moving into the area and, of course, Twynham itself.

It was a fantastic day and the Head of 6th Form (Mrs Jackson) commented; "What a great bunch of students. They were absolutely lovely and we are all very much looking forward to seeing them again on results day in August, in preparation for them joining us in September." There is no doubt that we are going to have yet another absolutely fantastic group of students joining us for Year 12 and we wish them well as they now wait for their GCSE results.

For those who were unable to join us on this day we have posted all relevant information home
