New Zealand 2010

The students are now very well settled with their “Home-Stay” families and the latest visit was to the Antarctic Centre, Christchurch. Here students learned about the scientific expeditions to the continent and all enjoyed the ride in the Hagglund (You will need to Google this to find out what this is). There was also the storm experience in which students experienced an Antarctic Storm with temperatures down to -20C. The photo shows our Party leader (Miss Hurst-Levy) with Miss Coffin and Mr Schuring with some of our students after they had experienced the storm with no-one worse for wear. We all need to thank our staff together with Morrie – our Kiwi organiser and member of staff at Linwood, for all their hard work in making everything happen so smoothly.

This is proving to be an exciting and interesting exchange and with the lovely warm weather and the warm welcome we have received from our hosts, we are sure that this will be a rewarding and life changing experience for all concerned.
