After a loooong flight via Singapore, we arrived safely in Christchurch NZ and I have to say that the students have been absolutely wonderful. Their behaviour and example have been something to be very proud of and they are all now settled into their Home-Stay billets with their host families. The photo shows us all at the Christchurch City County Hall where we were welcomed by the Deputy Mayor (Norm Withers - standing next to me in the back row) and Ted Clarke (Chair of the Sisters’ Committee – far right, back row) together with other Civic dignitaries.
I thanked our hosts on behalf of the school and the warmth between Linwood College and Twynham was very evident indeed. I really do feel that this is such a wonderful opportunity for the students from Linwood and Twynham with a really exciting programme for all concerned, thanks to Mr Ian Morrison from Linwood who has organised it all for us. I will try to post some more news later during the trip to give just a hint of the many activities which have been organised for the students.
